How can I free download a video on xShorty?

If a video supports downloads, the option appears from the video screen. If it does not appear, the video may only be available for watching online.

Quick answer

Open the video, look for Share or More, and choose Download if that option appears. Stay on the page until the file prompt opens. If Download is missing, check the troubleshooting list below.

Download on mobile

  1. Open the video you want to save.
  2. Tap Share, More, or the three-dot menu on the video screen.
  3. Choose Download if that option appears.
  4. Keep the page open while the file prepares.
  5. Use your phone's save prompt to choose where the file should go.

Download on desktop

  1. Open the video page in your browser.
  2. Look near the player for Share, More, or a three-dot menu.
  3. Select Download if it is listed.
  4. Let the browser prepare the file, then choose a folder.
  5. If your browser asks for permission to download files, approve the prompt.

If Download is missing

The download option is not guaranteed on every video. These are the most common reasons it may be hidden:

  • You are not signed in.
  • The creator or video owner has not enabled downloads.
  • The upload is still processing.
  • Your browser, pop-up setting, or file permission blocked the save prompt.
  • The video is available to watch online but not to store offline.
